Look like a Celeb: Beauty Secrets of the Stars

Look like a celeb: Beauty secrets of the stars

With paparazzi lurking around every corner, it’s no wonder that celebrities want to look good. They spend hours perfecting their skin, nails and hair – but are there any beauty secrets we should know? Of course there are!

Here are five of the best revealed:

Table of Contents

  • Peppermint oil
  • Olive oil
  • Red wine
  • Caviar
  • Placenta

Peppermint oil

Lip enhancement procedures are available at clinics across the UK, but peppermint oil is a great alternative. It comes from a sweet-smelling plant – indigenous to Europe – and is known to stimulate blood flow, helping the lips to plump up and swell. Mariah Carey is thought to be a fan and is rumoured to add a few drops of the oil to her lip gloss.

Olive oil

According to Glamour Magazine, Julia Roberts improves the condition of her cuticles and nails by soaking them in olive oil. This might sound strange, but olive oil – once named ‘liquid gold’ by the poet Homer – has been used for centuries to nourish and hydrate the skin. It’s popular in Mediterranean countries such as Italy, Spain and Greece and can be used all over the body.

Red wine

Believe it or not, the women of Chile use a mixture of red grapes and flour to perfect the tone and texture of their skin. Why? Well because grapes are packed with antioxidants which fight free radicals in the body. They can leave your skin feeling soft and supple and are readily available in the South American country. This, however, is not enough for some celebrities who choose to bath in red wine as part of their beauty regime.

caviar

Salmon caviar

Caviar

Do you suffer from angry-looking stretch marks? If so, take a leaf out of Angelina Jolie’s book and try covering them in caviar. The Mr and Mrs Smith star is believed to have used expensive Baerli sturgeon after giving birth to her twins and she certainly looks glamorous on the red carpet. It’s well-known that fish eggs are rich in oil and can nourish and hydrate the skin – if you can stand the smell.

Placenta

A chemical peel can reduce the signs of ageing, but so can placenta-based face creams if rumours are to be believed. The afterbirth of sheep, pigs, cows and even humans are packed with nutrients and these are thought to be good for the skin. Everyone from Eva Longoria to Katie Holmes use placenta creams (apparently), but would you give this beauty secret a go?

While most of these products sound like something off a gourmet menu, they can be incorporated into your beauty regime.

Isabella is a health and beauty blogger you can find her giving advice on a range of surgical options from what shape of breast implants to consider to providing answers about breast reduction surgery. She is a beauty product hoarder and a nail art fanatic, you can always find her at the mall at the weekend.
